Fellowship

Fellowship at St. Mark’s has a rich tradition with annual events that we all love to participate in. We could use your help during any of the events with setting up, planning, providing food, or cleaning up afterwards. Our traditional fellowship events include:

To learn more about these events or to volunteer for one, please contact the Junior Warden or Senior Warden, or Rector. They can pass your name to a team leader so that you are included in the event.

Second Sunday Brunch Bunch

Join us for a casual no-hassle brunch and good fellowship on the Second Sunday of the month. Each month we go to a different nearby restaurant (Pizza, Chinese, Thai, Mexican and more). Contact Barbara Rice at b-rice@accesscom.com for details and this month’s eating spot. All ages are welcome to join in.

Second Tuesdays at St. Mark’s

The “St. Mark's Poetry Project” began in 1966 at St. Mark's Church, 131 E. 10th St., in New York's East Village. Our modest version in Santa Clara gathers around tables in front of the fireplace in the parish hall once a month on the second Tuesday evening (from 7:30-9 P.M., more or less) to read poems we like to each other, enjoying and discussing them.

Our tastes are broad — from rhyming to non-rhyming, religious, spiritual, cosmic or just about any other style of poetry. Reading poems written by someone you like, or may know, or by yourself makes our gatherings even more intimate and personal. We've begun to build a poetry lending collection thanks to the church's annual Book Sale, so you can review the collection to find poems to read or bring any book you like from home. We offer unlimited decaffeinated coffee and tea in return for foodbank donations (one can, one box of anything is fine).
