About Miss Kate...

Miss Kate founded St. Mark's Preschool in 1994. Her preschool is unique in the gifts it gives to children. The program is a combination of structured and unstructured time. Miss Kate believes equally in the importance of structured learning and play, which is unstructured learning. Miss Kate encourages children's natural curiosity and fosters within each child a desire to learn. Miss Kate has an incredible gift with children. Each child in her school knows he/she is loved and cared for by her. The children who attend St. Mark's Preschool are very well-prepared for kindergarten and the school years ahead. They receive a strong foundation in academics, and they develop a sense of confidence in their abilities. Children are encouraged to problem-solve, rather than being spoon-fed with answers or solutions to problems. In addition, they are encouraged to "use their words" to resolve conflicts with other children. They, therefore, learn to become strong in themselves and learn skills that will serve them well throughout their lifetimes.

Miss Kate has 3 children of her own. She enjoys gardening, reading, quilting, and stitching.
